Murals

A mural is an extremely large work of art, most often a painting, applied to the surface of a wall, ceiling, or floor. It can be one of several different styles, but all are designed to bring beauty to the building, whether inside or out. Many major cities feature murals along freeway sound barriers or underpasses. People might also spot one on the side of a downtown building. Refineries and energy companies sometimes use an outdoor mural to introduce color and brightness and to distract the eye from industrial stacks and machinery. A wall can be painted to resemble worn brick, rich paneled wood.

           .

Murals are a skillful attempt at illusion. They expand our horizons and have the ability to transport us to another time and place.

FACTS : Murals have largely been inspired by 6 main topics:
a. religion
b. the four season (spring, summer, fall & winter)
c. historical events
d. ages of man
e. politics
f. social issues
As you may know by now Murals are so much more than pretty pictures; they have a much deeper meaning. The artwork in a mural is very well thought out. It is designed to represent a specific community at a specific point in history. It is often designed to make a political and / or social statement. The details in the murals add up to a bigger message. Murals date back to the caveman era. Some eras have been particularly important in certain areas but Many murals have change over time. They may represent a specific time in history but they decay and are repainted and change a little bit
 over time.

Murals are not designed by one person; they get input from a whole community. One person might head the project and one artist might even do all of the work  but designing a mural usually involves
 groups of people.

Its common for people to mix up Murals with Graffiti. The main difference between graffiti and murals is that people who do murals have permission from the property owner to do them.Graffiti artists almost never tag on murals. This is because the murals are part of the community and they respect that. Tagging on murals does happen of course but the social message of murals and their ties to the community tend to prevent this problem from happening constantly.

In concluion, murals are amzaing type of art that represent communities, religon and even hisory.

Animation

Animation is one of the latest and most breakthrough technologies of the
computer applications, it is not only useful in the technological world but animations
have also slowly taken over the entertainment and the other daily aspects of life.
Animations are commonly associated with cartoons, 3 D movies, flip books and even motion pictures.  There are many different types of animation that are used in our
present day world. The three main ones are clay animation, computer animation,
and "plain" animation. All of them have their own distinct uniqueness

Clay animation or claymation is one of many forms of stop motion animation. Each animated piece, either character or background, is "deformable" and is made of , usually Plasticine clay. Each frame, or still picture, is recorded on camera  and then played back in rapid pace. When played back at a frame rate greater than 10–12 frames per second, a  convincing illusion of continuous motion is seen.

Computer animation (or CGI animation) is the art of creating moving images with the use of computers

Plain animation is kind of self explainatory. It is basically simple drawings that are
drawn of paper. This is the original form of animation whereby the animation is created

Pastel Art

Pastel is an art medium in the form of a stick, consisting of pure powdered pigment and a binder. The pigments used in pastels are the same as those used to produce all colored art media, including oil paints; the binder is of a neutral hue and low saturation. Most pastels come in a variety of colours, the difference between chalk pastels and oil pastels are:

Chalk Pastels are chalk based mediums, more of a powdery substance, displaying different and a variety of colors. Chalk pastels are generally dusty just like a piece of chalk. they very easy to work with in the sense, mixing two colors together. They however require a carefullness, otherwise the painting will simply dust off.

Oil Pastels are oil based mediums, more of a oily substance compressed into a solid. Like the chalk pastel it also come in a variety of colours.

Oil pastels are similar to wax crayons, but are
softer, and also due to the binder can result in
the effect of an oil painting, they are less
dusty and are convenient for carrying.

Pastel techniques can be challenging since the medium
is mixed and blended directly on the working surface, and unlike paint, colors cannot be tested on a palette before applying to the surface. Pastel errors cannot be covered the way a paint error can be painted out.

ART: Phenomenon of Graffiti art

It is on the walls of buildings; it paints towns, and surfaces on trains; graffiti is one form of art that has been around for thousands of years.  To some, it is a form of  art that should be displayed in galleries and exhibitions and to others its merely vandalism. However, Graffiti could be catagorized in both catagories. its an art when its is spray painted  on public buildings for everyone to admire and enjoy. on the alternative, its considered a vandalism when painted on private homes without premission of the  property owner. it could lower a property balue and it could be very expensive to clean up, if a graffiti arist gets caugh vandalizing a propery he could get arrested and is expected to pay a fyne to get the surface cleaned.  inexpert bypasser might look at spray painted wall and might look at spray painted surface and might identifiey it as just "graffiti."  there are many types of graffiti art: one example is wild sytle graffiti   is a name given to graffiti done with aerosol spray paint that is abstract or hard to read. It is a style of graffiti that is wild , basically. Graffiti is about the letter forms, transforming each letter and the word to make it flow a certain style.
